I did too. Just like after I started watching the Crocodile Hunter (RIP), I started speaking in an Australian accent and saying Crikey. LOL

oooooo!!! *starts dancing around on the spot in joy!* A new piece of litrature I can sink my teeth into!!! Thanks for telling me about this girls!!!
As for the Crocodile Hunter, hes going to be sadly missed. He was a good guy and whatever Terri and her family has done with his remains, I'm sure that its honourable. A few days after he died Australia also lost another iconic figure in the form of Peter Brock (9-time Bathurst 1000 winner and 1-time Bathurst 24hour winner) in a horrific crash during a Rally Car race in Western Australia. That week was a sad one for Australia......

I'm going to be brave and come out and say I can't read the Shopaholic books. After reading part of the first one, I had to put it down several times. I just couldn't read about someone making such persistant terrible choices. Who thinks like that? It wasn't just about a shopping addiction either, but lying about her job/qualifications/EVERYTHING. Drove me off the wall.
/Sorry, needed to vent that. MAYBE I could be convinced otherwise, but I dunno.

*spoiler alert??*
You know what, as much as I love the book itself, I do admit at one point I wanted to slap her in the face and tell her to read all those bills and do something with it and also her behaviour but felt a lot better towards the end when she finally faced her own problems and tackle it

Oh my dear Lord. I just joined the Confessions of a Shopaholic group on MySpace and the first thread I see is mention of 2 Sophie Kinsella movies. One for Confessions and the other for Can You Keep A Secret?(which I have also read).
Who would you cast to play Becky? Luke?

I don't know about Becky, but when I was reading the book, I always picture Luke looking like Julian McMahon (from Nip/Tuck and Charmed)
I totally fell in love with him ever since I wacthed Charmed and secretly hoped he could be with Phoebe
How about you?

Yeah Jules is some kinda hunk! Its kinda funny, as his Dad excelled in politics and became the Prime Minister of Australia, while Julian has gotten all the way to Hollywood. I've admired him since I first saw him in the aussie tv-show, "Home and Away".

CT4 and CutieCat, I always pictured Colin Firth in the role of Luke but that could be because he's pretty much my go-to guy when I think of an actor with a British accent.
I loved Confessions of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan and the wedding one (whose name escapes me at the moment).
Am I the only one who wanted to go out and buy a Denny and George scarf after reading Confessions? I was really disappointed to find out that Denny and George doesn't exist in real life!

I think I would prefer unknowns in all of the roles that are genuine Britains.

I just wanted to go shopping with Becky Brandon nee Bloomwood PERIOD. LOL
The wedding one was Shopaholic Ties the Knot. Read Shopaholic and Her Sister to see how much Becky buys on her honeymoon, LMAO.

I read the first book twice (the second time this summer) and Can you keep a secret. I'm a big fan of british chik lit books.

I can easily see Kiera Knightly as Becky - or go with a total unknown, someone who can do the "ooh, pretty, must buy!" glaze over their eyes.
Hugh Grant is too old for Luke, but I always think of his style - the dark hair posh guy look. Surely, there's a second one in Britian!

I'm 87th on the list for my library. It looks like they ordered quite a few copies so it shouldn't take too long to get it.

I was #37 and was really surprised when I got the e-mail last night. I figured I wouldn't get the book until late March, early April.
