[QUOTE=PreppyTriDelta;1336345]I saw a woman, about 50-55, in the grocery store wearing an Everybody Loves a Delta Gamma Girl shirt. She was so adoreable that I went out and order a Tri Delt one. I thought I may be too old to wear shirts like that, although I do wear my letters and pin, but she really reminded me how nice it is to see other alumnae/i supporting their GLO and that it doesn't just have to be the greek letters.

I love that story! that is soo cool (I think I've said this before, but) I met a women at an alumni panhellenic meeting and I thought it was soo cute that she said "My name is Susy and I'm an XYZ." Not "I was," but "I am!" I have never met or seen anyone except people my own age with the occasional bumper sticker sporting their GLO letters or anything.

It is important for us to show the same pride we did as collegians. Membership is for life afterall.

I bet she was too cute! I love seeing "seasoned" members represent.
I have the same sentiments regarding supporting our organizations. Before I became Greek, I met an XYZ at a former workplace who really didn't wear 'nalia because she was inactive. No one really knew she was an XYZ. She told me she didn't even have 'nalia on her car because she couldn't consciously spend money for paraphernalia when she wasn't supporting the national body. That always stayed with me.

Yey!
I am so glad to hear that Alumni still wear their letters!! I wear mine quite a bit (jewelry and clothes) and I even had a really nice sweatshirt made that has Alumna embroidered in gold under the letters (which is super cute at football games and such!)

My truck wears letters. It has an AXiD license plate holder.

Quick question. Let's say its 80 degrees outside. Would it still be sensible to be wearing a heavy jacket with your letters on and compensate with shorts? I mean I love my letters and I have had it still on when it got a little bit hotter, but I think common sense comes into play once it gets incredibly hot...right? I noticed some girl wearing her letters outside and I was dying in shorts...

Ummm... I think that might be a little silly... It might be time to get some weather appropriate letter clothing that can be worn in warm weather (just my judgemental boxed in view ) . I have bags, pins, tanks, sweats, jackets, jewelry, tees and long sleeve shirts. (and I'm 38).

See that's what I was thinking. If you realize it's so hot outside, I know tons of girls who just grab their sorority tote or shorts or something but to wear that heavy sweater, yikes I felt bad for her. :X

I hauled my tour books, papers, etc., in a Gamma Phi bag all over the U.K. In Dublin, I was at the Guinness Storehouse when a woman came up to me and told me her sister was a Gamma Phi at UGA. I asked her not to turn me in to standards, since I had my letters at a brewery!!! (And then, dork that I am, I turned the bag so the letters didn't show. NO DRINKING IN LETTERS is still firmly entrenched in my brain.)
