As I've said before, deleting these posts won't make them go away. Letting the discussion carry on and reach a consensus? Will allow people to move on.

I thought the last thread hit a reasonable discussion. Of course, it could have devolved into a fight too, but based on everyone elses responses, this doesn't make sense.

What is everyone trying to reach consensus on?

Second. I'm really confused ... I think I have some kind of knack for always missing that one critical post that makes subsequent GC drama make sense.

I think she wants us to agree with her that it's okay for her to post her opinions.

Or is it something else?

Ok. In that case its absolutely ok for her to post her opinion. Maybe not post extremely unflattering characterizations of others . .. but certainly her opinion of issues and situations

I don't see anything wrong with that. Minus the unflattering characterizations, verbal abuse of others, etc.

Tippie, we support you.

Well there obviously aren't people who support her, because her threads continue to get deleted, when there isn't anything wrong!

Its so dumb that *some* people get butt-hurt so easily and then go crying to anyone and everyone that they are being harrassed.

I'm not asking for anyone's approval of my posts. I just want my threads and posts to be treated in the same respect as others on here. Some people are able to say anything they want and it stays up. Do I post things that aren't nice? Sometimes, yes. And, sometimes people need to stop being so sensitive. But, what gets me is when there are people on this board that report almost anything I say. And, there are mods that delete too freely. How about a, "Grow some thicker skin," response to people that constantly accuse people of TOS violations? I mean, if those same people complaining have been involved in TOS violations themselves, I think it's harassment in itself to CONSTANTLY report people.

John saw this thread. He also moved the third one back in so it could be discussed. He said he would keep an eye on it. Yet, it was deleted by someone in here. I say if John saw nothing wrong with it, it should have been allowed to have stayed. If offending posts violate the TOS, then delete them. But, just because someone doesn't particulary care for the topic doesn't mean the whole thread should be deleted because of a couple of posts. THAT is my point. I have PM'd him on the subject. He read through thread two or three and saw nothing wrong with it. That is why I am reposting it. If he pm's me back and says he changed his mind, fine. But, until then, I stand by the thread and its subject matter.

If what they're reporting actually is harssment, it's not harassment to report it. There's a fine line between being mean/blunt and being harassing. It's perfectly proper to call a moderator or John's attention to something which an individual thinks may be over the line. On a side note, how do you know you are currently being reported "constantly"? Did someone tell you this? Or do you just assume this is occuring?

You did the proper thing in bringing up your disagreements with the moderators of this forum up to John. That's the proper path to take.

Since moderators don't get paid, sometimes the 'nuclear option' (removing the thread entirely) is much easier than giving it a careful pruning. Especially once it's 8 pages long and has devolved into a dramafest. We don't always have the time or energy to make everyone happy, so sometimes, in our haste, we do what we think is best and remove the thread. I've done it on rare occasion myself.

The thread and its subject matter stating you have a right to an opinion? I don't think anyone disagrees with you so long as you express yourself in a TOS compliant way (not to insinuate that I know you've done otherwise because honestly, whether or not you're violating the TOS in a forum I don't moderate is not on my radar screen).

Saying someone shouldn't go through A.I. is not the same thing as harasment at all.

John and I have had conversations about the accusations. Also, when someone tells you they are reporting you, you tend to believe them when any post in question is deleted.

I understand there's a fine line between snark and harassment. However, I don't believe that the majority of my posts have crossed that line. They have never been deleted like this until a certain poster began to complain. Now, it seems that a lot of what I post is deleted whether it is harassing or not.
