Ok, some valid points, BUT you don't have to be condescending.

Also, it's coming from someone with 1,080 posts.. so I don't know.

Regarding post counts, one needs to remember that most of those who have cracked the 10,000+ mark are GCers who have been here since the beginning of GC (or a short time thereafter). If they got to 10,000+ posts within the course of a few short months, then you can play the "you need to get a life" card.

Most of my posts come during the day while in class or last summer during the internship.....or the occasional post drunk posting.

You should also know that I don't take GC to heart and don't get into fits of emotional rage over it.

He's right, and while you're at it, consider losing phrases like "you don't have to be condescending." This isn't a first grade classroom, we're adults, you can be condescending if you like. If people on here had their way, we'd scratch the first amendment and replace it with, "No person shall offend another person..."

That could stand to be directed towards a few. Some people miss the ignore button and head straight for the report button instead.

You've been a registered user for 6 months, and you have over 1,000 post and you are telling other people to get a life...am I wrong?

Its interesting that you quoted that part of my comment....and then said something about my amount of posts in 6 months. Again, I post during the day, usually while in class or at the office when I don't have anything to do. The summer long internship also lead to a lot of posting.....I have a great social life filled with bars, fraternity parties, sorostitute functions, road trips, etc. etc. You can take that however you want....I really don't care.

.........I don't, however, get emotionally attached to this place nor do I take anything on here as seriously as some of you. Its a website, not a matter of life and death. The fact that there was actually some sense of "drama" on here, mostly concerning, again, a senile old man, was rather humorous to me.......so I made a thread. Oh well.

Brother;
I agree with you...interesting how some people try to live their lives here while controling the board...

You SAE's sure are acting as the circle of brothers eternal - you guys always have each others back, even outside of loyalty, friendship, honor and fraternity. What year were you guys founded?

SigmaChiGuy;
I do truly hope that you were making a joke based on Mac's and mine sigs or tags.
If not, our Fraternity's history is not that hard to find on-line.

That's the "problem" right there.

This is a forum for discussions about Greek issues or to just come and hang out periodically.

But for some it is clearly a focal point of life- and at the expense of on topic discussion.

It is also at the expense of the person who pays for all of this and the time he and the moderators spend to keep things on track.

Being neither an owner or a moderator I get the luxury of not having to deal with that directly, but it is annoying to see really good discussions about serious issues get derailed.

Chapters are run by college kids who, if they are lucky, get periodic guidance from advisors who have lives of their own and cannot be there every second. And then there are the many rushees who have little knowledge of Greek Life.

This forum can be a much needed resource for sharing info and ideas among people who NEED it.

It is also a good place to just chat sometimes for those who want that- but why does this aspect of it have to come at the expense of the other? Why can't all the personal/social fulfillment stuff stay HERE in Chit Chat and be away from the other forums?

Very well put....among many good fine points you made, it is a shame how serious threads get derailed and turned all too many times...and sometimes by the most simple and most inosent things.
We all come here on our own time to enjoy John's board. But sometimes we do not take the time to understand a given thread that we go to. There are times that it seems as if follow GC'ers are answering the last post or two rather than understanding and following the original post and thread. And as we all have seen, and done, the last few post can be way off thread...

You do have fits of emotional rage dude. I won't be surprised if you blow up on me for this post. I think you just called someone a dipshit. No need for name calling unless you are seroiusly joking. Doesn't sound like it though.
