Then they probably will be able to check you in as I stated. Unless you're going cross country, chances are good that you'll be in a smaller aircraft. Makes for interesting conversation!

I *hate* puddlejumpers. They make me so nervous.

It's prop planes that get to me. I absolutely abhor flying to another city on business, and showing up with a HUGE headache!! Not a good first impression!

When I flew LGA-Cleveland the plane had only 3 seats in each row. I was in the single seat that was both a window and an aisle seat. I felt like I was flying in a Fisher-Price plane.

Or for a better opportunity to take a nap! I hate small talk on the plane.

"So, are you from ____? I'm from ____! Who were you here to visit? Where are you going? I hate flying, don't you? It makes me so nervous! Do you want some gum? I have some gum, I hear it helps!"

blah blah blah blah blah!

I rarely start a conversation on a plane (I read), but the few I've had have been with some very interesting people (a Steeler who was afraid to fly, a computer whiz from Seattle, an old lady who was going to see her g-g-grandchild, for starters).

It's one of the few ways I don't limit myself in life.

I don't like "single serve friends." I also hate when someone tries to talk to you when clearly, you don't wanna have a conversation. I bought an eye mask for that reason. So that when I want to sleep, I put it on and people are like, "Oh, that girl is SERIOUS about her sleep. Shes got an EYEMASK on."

If I don't feel like talking, I look up from my book, sigh, and say, "Excuse me?" The eyemask would say it well, too.

But, I have gotten tickets to a Steelers' game from one seatmate, learned a little about my chapter's start from a founder another time, and was invited to a weekend of fun in Denver by another. I passed on the last one!

That's awesome! Though I dn't blame you for passing on the last one

On my flight from Auckland to Christchurch in NZ, the guy sitting next to me on the plane was also going on my Contiki tour, so we got to know each other a little before the tour stated, and we wound up splitting a cab fro mthe airport to the hotel.

On my flight from LAX to NY the guy sitting next to me was from New Zealand (where I first started my trip home) so it was great to get another few hours of the accent and the sayings.
