Awesome! So excited to hear your story, since I can't make it to my chapter's recruitment...their pref is tonight, and I'm just plain bummed...but they've had excellent return rates, so it's exciting! Thanks for letting me live vicariously!

100% Return Rate

That's incredible. Congratulations.

My campus did the Release Figures Method for the 1st time this year and it worked out relatively well.

Good luck the rest of the week.

I thought about doing this (a recruitment thread from an advisors point of view) but I will use your lead and maybe I will do it next year. I am so interested in how you do this thread.

It is hard as an advisor to have a "rush crush" and not be able to "recruit" them. But, I fall into that trap every year.

HAVE A GREAT TIME. AND GET SOME SLEEP HA HA - You know another thing I learned - it was alot easier to be perky with only 4 hours of sleep when I was 20 then it is at 35.

Thanks for this thread .. . . . oh and ICS ROCKS

Omigosh, I could have written this!! I keep thinking, would that the college or the Panhel or someone would put the Advisors up in a dorm or hotel for Recruitment Week! If I had to do it all over again (as an Advisor), I would have taken the week off, and checked into a hotel - because after everything was set up, I still had the 45 minute drive home each night and had to get up for work about an hour later!

OH I STAYED IN A HOTEL - with ms. Braste (for those of yall who know her) I had to get away for goodness sake but even then I didn't get to the hotel until aroun 1 or 2 in the morning every day. Then back to "work" at 8 or 9 am. . . But I did take the weekend off of my real job which helpd(this year) alot. There was no way I could have been an effective recruitment advisor and do my job well too. Not that it can't be done but since I was able to take off of work I did. . .

Our Advisor always stayed in the house during Recruitment. I don't really remember if she took the week off, but she definitely didn't drive home after Membership Selection.

yea well I stayed in the sorority dorms LAST Year and swore I would never do it again. If you choose to stay in the dorms then you become not only recruitment advisor and sister, you become a full time mother, doctor, artist, mathmatician, referee, panhellenic specialist, maid, FRC, RVP, RIM, Treasurer, painter, . . . . don't get me wrong I love being recruitment advisor - especially for the chapter from which I graduated but the peace and quiet that I got at the hotel this year made me a little more helpful to the girls, when I was around them.

Sorry for going off the subject too much. How is DZ doing today?

This cracked me up... that's basically what happened when I took over as my university's Panhellenic Advisor. I love it though.

Apparently the information that I posted was sensitive in some manner and I had inadvertently offended another chapter. Which, by the way, was never my intention. However I have enough respect for my organization to comply with the wishes of the higher up's. Sucks though that a post on Greek chat that I wrote to build up and support my chapter could be taken in a negative way.
