It does seem like there have been some crazies here lately, but I would hope that all AIs won't get cast in a bad light because of it.
I am almost afraid to ask but--what do you all do if someone you deem inappropriate for AI approaches you here. Should you tell someone as a warning???

Most definitely. I know of several GCers who have directed either their HQ or the local alum chapter the candidate is looking at (judging from their location or 'clues' they reveal) to GreekChat just so they can see for themselves what's going on so that they can take any necessary action.

Yes, in giant font and at the top of your lungs. I've done it.
We've talked about alums writing "no-recs" or refusing to write recs for collegiate PNMs, I don't know why PNAIs wouldn't be the same way, if not even more so.

Wow, I missed that AI thread about the alumni chapters. It must have been before I joined GC.
Anyway, I think it is our responsibility to tell our headquarters. What else can we do- its not like we have any other control over whether an invitation is extended.

I have our Executive Director's email in my address book, and I'm not afraid to use it.

So true! And, yet, so sad that it is necessary for us to have to do so.

What some people do not seem to realize, there is a very small amount of posters on GC compared to those in the whole World.
While it seems to be a major catostrophic promblem here, it it is actually very minor.
But as long as some on GC make a big deal out of it to their HQs, it will get even worse.
Oh yes, I also have the phone number and email address for every member of My IHQ. Big deal.

Yes. I look up the closest AC and warn them. But I do usually caveat that I have never met the person and that the decision is ultimately theirs (but I add that caveat to emails I send on every AI who contacts me).
