Frat, i understand what you're saying. I was mearly commenting on what he said about IFC being greek to him and NPHC groups not being greek. BUt Not recognizing Alpha, because in fact, we have been part of the IFC for about 9 months now.

intolerance
noun
Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion: bigotry, prejudice. See like/dislike.
Now where did I say that? I said I didn't agree with homosexuality. What they believe and how they act CONFLICTS with what I believe in. Yeah, thats homophobic...Thats ok, continue to call names, its obvious you have no substantive points to make.

But, in not being able to keep your "mouth shut", you demonstrate intolerance. The same intolerance that made our 7 jewels start Alpha. The same intolerance that started Kappa, and any other BGLO. No, it's not cool to promote "ghetto culture" to our children, but it's people like most of the people in this thread, that cannot push away the image of hoodies, white te shirts, crack slanging and such because "white people" constantly label it as black. They inadvertantly shove these ideas in the brains of children and make them think that it's ok to stay in the hood and not better themselves. And the fact that you called it Ghetto culture, is something right there.
Take for example, September 11. It's still all over the news. I cried when it happened. Yes, it was sad for america. What else was sad for America? Hurricane Katrina. I do not DO NOT agree with Kanye West. I think that was the dumbest thing he could have ever done, was to make himself look like an ass on TV. But I haven't seen any major stories about it since it happened. All these black people lost thier lives, thier homes, thier livelyhood, and it gets no airplay. But when it does, they only show the stupid black people. (yea, I said it) The people who wanna loot stores and get some pairs of Air Ones, the people with no power who wanna steal big screen TV's but when they show the white people stealing, they were stealing food. I know plenty of people who were looting from grocery stores so they could live, my ship being one of them, buit they never showed the black people doing that.
I say this to say, that African americans, just as homosexuals are still shown to the majority (white people) as being something that needs to be irradicated. And by continuously perpetuating these stereotypes, you continuously breed hatred, and bigotry, and intolerance.....

APA, PBS
PHI It is spelled with a P not an F
Also, Phi Beta Sigma is not part of the IFC, neither is Omega Psi Phi

You are correct. only a select few are part of the IFC. SOme of us don't do our research either. Only Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi and Regrettfully (lol) Iota Phi Theta are part of the IFC, the other 2, Phi Beta Sigma and Omega Psi Phi are not part of the IFC

Who/where are you refering to? And in the "Symbol" Greek font, Phi is an F, that's probably what they were doing/trying to do.

PS: The fact that you have never heard of mixers/swaps is very humorous, but then again, who can a BAND "fraternity" swap with?
|
Most BGLO members, especially those who haven't interacted with WGLO members or orgs don't know what a mixer is.

You've got to be kidding me. White people push the ghetto culture onto black kids?? I guess white people force black rappers to glorify ghetto culture as well?? That is a huge part of "ghetto culture" in my opinion, shifting the blame on to others to use as a scapegoat for their own shortcomings.

Alchem, I think everything you said was quite reasonable up to the end...
Regarding Hurricane Katrina, where have you been? It is constantly shown on the news, and if you've been paying attention, you'll notice that "Bush failed everyone" stories outnumber "houston crime wave" stories 5-1.
I don't think I'm perpetuating any sort of intolerance or hatred. I don't force black people to act any way.
