Why is that a surprise? Just because ESPN sucks USC off every year (along with Notre Dame) doesn't mean they are some all wordly team, all year, every year. And Pete Carrol is a whiny bi*ch.

They show it because Oklahoma, a major team from the Big 12 was playing Washington - a team who is terrible, but has a decent following, and will pull in ratings.
You should call the networks, I'm sure they will see your side of things. Maybe Iowa who is apparently a good team can beat Iowa State who is apparently not a good team and you might be able to have a point

Well yeah with my cat playing QB for Iowa that day and throwing a million interceptions, I'm horribly upset that they didn't win 900-0.
ETA: I see your point, artist formerly known as ktsnake, but I just hate the Big 12 and have never met ANYBODY in this state who went to Oklahoma and there are TONS of Big 10 peeps. That said, I should write the network -- although nothing ever came of my loving emails to ESPN to suggest that they show more White Sox, less Red Sox/Yankees.

What we should do is take Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska, combine them with Michigan, Ohio State and Iowa (maybe PSU), then add Miami, FSU, Va Tech, Ga Tech and Clemson and BOOM... you'll have a conference that competes with the SEC.

Coach Erickson I still have faith in you. Granted we lost the first two games of the season, but neither were WAC games so let's get the team together and start winning. I won't be at the game Saturday because I am walking three miles in Spokane for juvenile diabetes research, but I will be either watching it on tv or listening on the radio, so get it together! We can call Uncle Rico up from Preston if you need a hand on the sidelines.
Keep us out of espn's bottom 10, mmmkay?

Our son graduated from Oklahoma.
Valkyrie, I love you, but I think you're being a little myopic about this one. Go to any of the major sports bars on a football Saturday and you'll find tons of O.U., Nebraska and other Big 12 fans watching their out of market games.
The Big 10 is certainly well represented, too, but the proximity to the Big 12 markets is what makes the difference -- especially on the TV schedules.
If you want to see more Big 10 games, you're probably going to have to go back to the Windy City -- or East.

I love you too, DA, and I know you're right. But I'm so mad when I can't see my beloved Hawks. I've heard that there's an Iowa bar in town -- I'll have to check it out sometime.

Despite the NCAA turning away from the Bush scandal at its beloved Southern Cal, Yahoo seems to continue digging. If this was an SEC school there would already be sanctions.

Actually thats not correct.
A hokie is actually a Virginia Tech fan.
The word was made up way back whent the school changed its name for a cheer contest (back before the 1900s) and it kind of stuck.
Why people get this confused is because of the HokieBird. The hokiebird evolved from a turkey because the school was once the fighting gobblers.
I am a Virginia Tech Alum (worked with the alum association in school) and a loyal fan

UCF vs USF tomorrow.
I'm a UCF alum and my boss is a USF alum. Loser pays for lunch on Monday. Should be an interesting game. When we win, I'm sneaking into the office and covering his area in black and gold.

Who out of the above gets to be Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Arkansas? The SEC has 6 decent teams and 6 bottom-feeders who probably won't have a single win against the other 6.
