Doesn't it take a while to release an album? I'm assuming that she rushed as a freshman or sophomore and told her dad about it and when time came to pick the name, that's what he chose. It says that she was 19 so maybe she was a soph?

Guess I didn't read the article that closely, but what you said makes more sense.

Wow, that article was hardly "greek friendly" - but neither was the woman who called her White Trash in the first place! She should be ashamed of herself.

The article doesn't say how or when the girl said that. I personally don't have as much of a problem with what was said as I do with the fact that the girl was dumb enough to let people overhear her.

It sounds like a "she's New Money" sort of comment from "Old Southern Plantation" type girls.

I think that is THE most pathetic thing I've ever heard. The girl that said those things is NOT someone I would representing MY sorority or MY panhel. That is without a doubt the most absurd and non-greek friendly thing I've ever heard. What kind of example are we setting if girls are out there judging girls to their face and basically saying "I'm better than you." That is NOT the kind of thing that should happen during recruitment no matter WHO you are. That is VERY unprofessional.

I'm sorry for my rant. I am infuriated. I am just glad the Keiths can find humor in this. They are my heroes.

So you're saying that neither you nor your sisters have ever made a rude comment about a pnm ever?

No, I have NEVER called someone white trash with money to their face. Would you want someone to call YOU white trash with money? Or for that matter, behind your back? It's very rude. Unless she did something very uncalled for, there was no need in that comment being made.

That's definitely what it sounds like... although the way you stated it is a teensy bit more tactful than "she's white trash with money"

Even in a hypothetical world if she was snobby or whatever, I don't think that gives anyone the right to say "let's not accept her, she's just white trash with money."

I actually saw the Toby Keith interview (happened on some late night show last week) where he went into the story of how his album got it's name. Apparently the mother was appalled that he actually named his album that, but like he said "I know an album name when I see one!"

I wonder why the daughter was released by every chapter. Perhaps there is more to the story than reported.

If, in fact, she did/does go to OU as suspected, it's a very competitive rush. It isn't common really, but there usually is a whole page or so of girls on the list that got cut from every chapter.

However, she might have gotten cut from the chapters she wanted, and dropped out of rush instead.

Plus, she's kinda rude.

You know it's sad when I'm the one making your statement more tactful.

I'm not a sugar-coat it kind of person.

She was 19 when she was a freshman. She was the tackiest little snot- she went to the school my parents teach at, and she had my dad's class.

I would think her being cut would have more to do with the fact that she's rude than the fact that she's new money.

Also, betting on the college she is at, since her dad lives in Norman, and so does her mother, I'm betting OU.

I hate to speculate, but I doubt that she would go anywhere but the University of Oklahoma. Toby Keith is a huge OU donor. He was very involved when I was in school there. However, I cannot speak to the reason she did not become part of the Greek system. OU's greek system is very southern in style and competitiveness, so that could also have something to do with it.

Do you mean your dad's high school class? B/C this post makes it sound like you don't know if your dad teaches at OU.
