Yes but not all advertising is face to face. If a group of brothers are gathered in the student center a person can watch from a far and see the brothers interaction with out hearing anything that's being said. They can SEE the brotherhood in action. But even if someone can't see the letters or don't know what the letters are they can still say "That fraternity with the red shirts."
