Just to clarify the confusion about AEPhi.

Nationally AEPhi uses the term "Jewish sorority" not "historically Jewish sorority" though we do not consider ourselves a religious organization. Since AEPhi was founded as a result of discrimination against Jews it has never required members to be Jewish because we don't want to practice discrimination ourselves. Chapters obviously should be familiar with our Jewish background and history but chapters are not required to be a certain percentage Jewish or anything like that. We have chapters with very few or no Jewish members and that is fine with national organization.

In terms of USC I would be super excited if we recolonized there. It was our Xi chapter and was our second chapter out west and our first chapter in California.

Sigma Chi's Colony at University of Tennessee-Martin will receive their charter this January.

Sigma Pi has announced that they will be establishing a colony at Florida State this spring. This will be a re-charter. They have been off campus since 2001.

Delta Chi was selected to colonize at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in fall 2007. KA Order and Chi Phi also presented. Expansion has not occurred since the original colonization of the campus in Fall 1998. Our campus population has nearly doubled since then, so it's about time!

The rechartering for Upsilon Chapter at Penn State is great news. They have a beautiful old house. Initiated were 36 men into the mystic circle .

Rutgers initiated 35 men into the mystic circle .

NC State initiated 33 men into the mystic circle

Sigma Chi coming back to University of Oklahoma.

For the record--In July 2005, Pres. Boren at Oklahoma University sent a letter to Sigma Chi HQ inviting the Beta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Chi to return as a "recognized Student Organization" after January 17, 2006 upon completion of six state requirements. In February 2006, after completing 5 of the 6, and on the eve of commencement of the 6th, he changed his mind (after 17 presidents of the other on campus fraternities complained) and re-scheduled the chapter's return as a Student Organization for the spring of 2007 and return to the Chapter House for the fall of 2007.

Possible NPC Expansion at U. of Southern California (USC)

The college Panhellenic is supporting a local sorority at the U. of Southern California that wants to become a chapter of an NPC group. Reportedly the local is especially interested in either Alpha Epsilon Phi or Sigma Delta Tau. The local regards those sororities as being most closely aligned with the values and emphases of the local. An article in student paper mentions the proccess that will be followed to seek affiliation with a national:

I doubt it because Gamma Phi Beta was colonized about a year or so ago, something like that

Congratulations to your brother's chapter. Alpha Sigma Phi has really been growing by leaps and bounds for the past couple of years. They seem to be really concentrating on expansions.

Sidenote: Do any of you ladies know how Alpha Chi Omega did at Univ. of West Florida? or how Sigma Delta Tau did at Pace University? I believe they both had their expansions within the last 2 months.
