Yes, I believe it is true that our HQ no longer condones the use of "Rev. Wambi" in our fraternity culture. I remember our PGD items having the character in the 80's, (I graduated in '87), but before I graduated Wambi's use was stopped. There were some chapters that had a tradition of imitating Wambi and blacking their faces out, resembling the darker skinned character. In our PC times, it obviously caused some problems.

Of course, at my school, the "Bradley Brave" is now a thing ofd the past as well. I understand the University can use the word "Brave" but has done in with the Indian mascot. PC I guess, but a shame anyway.

There may be some more history about Wambi, perhaps others can share as well...
