Yeah,

Plus he wasn't handcuffed. I mean we already know he's a flight risk, so why shouldn't he be treated like any other prisioner who is being transferred?

He's a flight risk? I thought he gave himself up?

Didn't his wife say he was in Alabama, and John Ramesy doesn't know him, and since he's from Thailand, and avoiding jail there, I have one question:

What did he do in Thailand that is so bad that Thailand says you have to go to prison? That must have been twisted.

I'd suspect he was caught in a sex raid.

But he was technically extradited (sp?) for immigration violations, not whatever he did in Thailand. The US can't arrest him until he enters the country. I don't know if they did, but they were talking about flying him to N. California where he already had a warrent for child pornography.

Easier to arrest him for old charges than prove the new ones. A confession alone is not enough to convict.

If it was some conspiracy, I'm pretty sure John Ramsey would still be denying that he knew the guy. I have no idea.

He fled the country the last time that he was arrested. I think you only get one chance with that sort of thing.

I'm not totally sure, but I thought that those pre-existing charges were what they were using as grounds to have him returned to the US and have him held. I'm not positive, though.

I think they used immigration rules (probably entering Thailand with a warrant for your arrest is against their rules) so that they didn't have to actually extradite him. Thus he wasn't actually under arrest (techincally) until he landed in CA. Now, if there wasn't a federal agent sitting next to him, I'd be floored.

I'm beginning to think that the guy wanted a First Class airline ticket out of SE Asia.

Looks like his DNA was not a match and charges won't be filed.

Just a warning about the content in that CNN story. It's pretty graphic and quite disturbing.

So maybe I wasn't paying attention and missed this, but WHY HAS HE KEPT SAYING HE ACCIDENTLY KILLED HER?

Why would he say that if he knew his DNA wouldn't match? Did he plant someone else's DNA?

What's going on???

What does that prove? If DNA was the definitive proof of innocense or guilty then why didn't the police rule the family out as suspects when their DNA didn't match either? What DNA did they compare? As I remember there was one strand of hair found on the body. As stray hair could come from anywhere. It may or may not belong to the killer. It could have been transfered from anyone that the victim met during the weeks before the crime. Was there other DNA found on the body like body fluids?
