I know that this is an old thread, but since it was brought to the top.......
I have to make a clarification. See, here's the problem with other people making statments about organizations they don't belong to.........Sigma Gamma Rho's YOUTH group is called Rhoers.
They are in no way shape or form a high school sorority. The specific nature of these programs vary based on the sponsoring chapter, but the main goal is to mentor young women and help them to see that there is a life beyond high school.
High school fraternities and sororities are a whole 'nother thing! My high school explictly banned them. I will let someone who has more initmate knowledge of these groups speak on them.
