I would just like to say that I am so sad Prescriptives has been closed up by the Estee Lauder group of companies. I loved their foundation.
I've switched to a Trish McEvoy foundation and it's OK, but way different texture than my old Prescriptives.
In other news, I still totally love Bobbi Brown.

You can still get Prescriptives foundation as long as you have your colorprint specifics. They also are clearing out some of their other stuff.

Plus if you have a Cosmetics Company Store in an outlet mall next to you, check there, they might have it. (They carry overstocks of all the EL brands.)

How have I never seen this thread before???
I have amazing skin so I don't use foundation or concealer but I am a HUGE eye makeup and lip gloss junkie.
I'd been using different brands of liquid eyeliner ever since I started wearing makeup (I think I was like 12 or 13) up until recently when I got a free Sephora eyeliner pencil, and omg. I love it! They're all I use now and they're about a dollar each. About a month before I got the free pencil I bought a set of Urban Decay pencils (one of their 24/7 sets, I think it was HiFi) and those were really good as well. The only thing I had a problem with is the black eyeliner didn't "glide" as well as the rest of them, so it didn't look as good, and that kinda sucked.
I have since moved on to gel eyeliner, my favorite is Urban Decay's Ink for Eyes, and a good cheap gel eyeliner is Maybelline's product (I forget the exact name). It looks just as good but it doesn't last as long.
And now mascara
I have nonexistent eyelashes and I have spent sooo much money trying to find a good mascara. I've tried pretty much everything from drugstore brands to higher end brands of mascara, and I didn't find anything satisfactory until January when I went on a little makeup spree and found Lash Injection by Too Faced. It's awesome because it builds little tubes around each lash and those tubes stay until you wash them off and the look is so dramatic and pretty. They almost look like false lashes, but not really.
As far as eyeshadow goes, my favorite brand by far is Maybelline's Eyestudio line. My current favorite pallet is called Ivy, and it has the most gorgeous colors ever. I also love Loreal's HIP loose pigments.
Ah, and lipgloss. I am currently in love with Stila's lip glazes and this one VS Beauty Rush gloss, but my favorites are the CO Bigelow Mentha Lip Shines and Carmex
Yay makeup!!

My favorite (or now, favourite) mascara is Max Factor Lash Perfection Mascara, in waterproof brown/black. I've just discovered that other countries will mail it to the US, but if you're not already using it, there's no sense in starting. Cover Girl's Eyelights is almost as good, and will probably be made much longer. I've tried several department store mascaras, but all of them flake or smear in water.

If you like gel eyeliner, you should try Bobbi Brown's gel liner. It stays in place and is pretty easy to apply with a brush once you have practice...easier than typical liquid liners. Bobbi also makes a cream eye shadow that is supposedly amazing, I just haven't used it yet because I have a ton of her powder shadows.
I am blessed with oh-my-GOD long lashes, so admittedly I've never had to fuss much when it comes to mascara - the biggest issue I have with it is smudging. I stick to drugstore brands. I used to use one by L'oreal called Featherlash, but they've apparently discontinued it and so now I have to find new mascara once I finish up my current tube.
Oh, and for those of you who like bronzer, Trish McEvoy makes some really nice ones that are half-matte, half-shimmer. Gives the skin a nice glow along with the tan.

I posted this in the "Makeup - Not Wearing it Thread" and figured following up here would make more sense...

Guess I'll be taking that one back Not sure if that's how they all are or just this one (Physician's Formula, it's also what my normal foundation is).

I decided to give the tinted moisturizer another try. I should note that I don't wear foundation often (max a couple times a week, often go weeks without it)- just when I have a big meeting, want to look extra nice, or just have extra time in the morning. I did normal moisturizer first (which is how I apply my normal foundation), and then put the tinted stuff on. It did go on a bit more sheer than my normal foundation, and I like that it's SPF 50. So I can't use it the way I had hoped, but I will probably keep it.
Is there any tinted foundation out there that is really just tinted? I was hoping for moisturizer with just a touch of color so I can throw it on in the middle of the day if I need a boost. This stuff is more like a foundation with extra moisturizer in it- definitely need an applicator or to wash your hands right after applying (which isn't always an option in a quick rushed situation).

I put on tinted moisturizer before anything else in the morning and I use the Cover Girl Smoothers, which also has SPF 15. They come in 3 shades. Pretty idiot-proof. I don't use foundation, just the moisturizer and apply powder/blush over and I'm done. It's not heavy and has a pretty even coverage. Plus it's only around $6.00 at CVS/Target. Hope this helps.

I just found Benefit. OMG! I have tried the Erase Paste, "Hello, Flawless", a lip stick and just bought a bronzer. Everything I have tried as well as my roommate (who has tried a bunch more products) has been amazing!

At Homecoming, one of the alumnae was wearing the most subtle shade of taupe eyeliner. Does anyone know of one? She's been out of the country, or I'd ask her myself.

I don't know any myself but I did a little digging and found these taupe eyeliners:
The Body Shop: Liquid eyeliner in Taupe
MAC: Taupe eyepencil
Jordana: Kohl kajal eyeliner - Taupe
Jane Iredale: Eye pencil - Taupe
Revlon: ColorStay eyeliner - Taupe
Biotherm: 165 - (taupe)
Annabelle: Kohl Pencil in Taupe
L'Oreal: Eye Designer in Taupe
Clinique: Kohl Shaper for eyes in Blackened Taupe
NYX: Eye-eyebrow pencil - 915 Taupe
Fyrinnae: Fyrinnae Inks liquid eyeliner in Tinsel Taupe
Just for Redheads: Custome eye pencil Taupe
Physicians Formula: Eye definer automatic eye pencil, Taupe
Christian Dior: Crayon eyeliner in Elegant Taupe (spring 2009)
Make Up For Ever: Aqua Eyes light Taupe 24L
MaryKay: Eyeliner, Taupe
Makeup Alley has reviews on all of them except for the MaryKay one, which I found in just a regular internet search.

ColorStay eyeliner is the bomb diggity.
The mascara I thought rocked was clumping like it was its job last night. HC, which CG mascara are you using - the one with the highlights? Did you get the waterproof or non? I want to try the new Lash Blast (volume and length) but they haven't come out w/ a waterproof yet.

I like these, they aren't my favorite, but they will get the job done and I reach for them more than any pencil.
Eyeshadow as liner and gel eyeliners are my favorites. Revlon lipsticks are nice. My favorite brand, the brand if I had to pick one to use for the rest of my life, would be Dior.
I have yet to find my favorite mascara. My eyelashes are medium length, not super long, but definitely not short.
Maybelline Full and Soft is nice, but could be better. Sometimes it smudges.
Maybelline Define-A-Lash is okay, but not great. I haven't seen ANY smudging with it.
Diorshow looked beautiful, but smudged and the end result was raccoon eyes, which are not so beautiful.
Covergirl LashBlast and I didn't get along.
Clinique Lash Doubling is okay. I'm not willing to pay $14 for an "okay" product.
L'Oreal Double Extend clumps like crazy for me.

My favorite Mascara is the Maybelline (I think) Collasal Volume. I LOVE the way it makes my lashes look- if I apply 2 coats, I look like I have fake eyelashes on. I don't like the waterproof formula as much, but the regular formula has pretty good staying power and does come off easily with soap and water.

I've been lurking around a bit and thought I would post a question here:
Does anyone have a preferred/favorite nail polish brand?
Nails are a big struggle for me.
