I posted this photo over at the "What do you drive" thread.. because this literally was my first car, and I still have it. (I only drive it on nice days. I have a second car that I use most of the time)
I bought my '67 Stang as a senior in highschool from a teacher who hardly ever drove it. (I bet he's kicking himself today for not holding on to it!)
I drove it the whole time I was at college in Florida. Think about it.. the Florida heat with black seats, black roof, and no air conditioning!
It was a "Fred Flintstone" car by then.. rusted out floors! I would stop at a red light, and the woman in the car next to me would roll down her windows and say, "Hey, I love your shoes!"
But, eventually, I had it competely stripped and restored. Rebuilt engine, new floors, carpet, interior, etc. It took about 7 years from start to finish.
Now, my Mustang is my pride and joy.
