nauadpi reminded me of another one!

Exit Song

Goodbye, Goodbye
Wipe a tear, baby dear, from your eye
we hate to see you go
you'll soon be back we know
don't sigh, don't cry
won't do to be blue ADPi
cheery-o-ring-ding
bonswa we sing
boom diddy ah
bye bye

I love how each chapter seems to change the words of songs! We sang the one:

We the girls in white and blue
Want to say hello to you
We're glad that you dropped by
To see the ADPis...

We're out to do our best
Better than all the rest
No matter what the test
We're telling you....

That in your heart you'll know
That everywhere you go
ADPi will always shine
All of the time -
HI!

and to this day, when someone says "bye, bye" I think:

Bye bye, bye bye
Wipe a tear, baby dear, from your eye
We hate to see you go
You'll soon be back we know
Don't sigh, don't cry
Won't do to be blue ADPi!
Cheerio ring ding bon soir we sing
Boom da de boom Bye Bye!

NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Now this song will be in my head ALL DAY!!!!!!!!

My chapter liked to take words from popular music and change them around. As a result:

Our House
In the Middle of the Street
ADPi
Is the Place You Wanna Be

(Smashmouth: All Star)
Hey Now
You're At ADPi
Get Your Game On,
Come Play!...

(A League of their Own Baseball Song)
We are the members of Alpha Delta Pi
We come from cities near and far... (there's a whole song!)

(In the Jungle) Ice Water entry song
In the jungle, the mighty jungle
the lion sleeps tonight
(repeats)
Hush my rushee, no fear my rushee (Ithink they use a different word than "rushee" these days)
the lion sleeps tonight
(repeats)
Hey Hey!

(Billy Joel)-- prefs exit song
This is the time to remember
Cause it will not last forever
These are the days to hold onto
But they won't although we'll want to
This is the time
But time is gonna change
We know you've got to choose somehow, but we don't want to lose you now

Little ADPi is sung when they come into prefs. Sung in rounds.

And lots of Bye Bye during the other days...

When I first started interviewing, and the interviewee would say, "Bye bye," nine chances out of ten, the door would shut, and I'd start singing, "Bye bye! Bye bye...! "

ACK!

Once, when my roomie & I decided to clean out our storage unit, we found two albums made in the sixties, which we put on tape. It was sooo funky! I was able to get the one on ebay, and I'm going to have it put on CD. When I do, I'll let everyone know, in case anyone wants a copy!

The girls I advise use this for closing the parties (for the first three rounds):

So long (clap clap), bye now (clap clap)
Come Again
It's a wonderful time
It's an ADPi time
And we hope to see you again (clap clap)

*This repeats until all the girls have left the room, then after a short pause, they will yell "We live for each other and for Alpha Delta Pi"

Songs my chapter used included (mostly for exiting, we didn't do many entrance songs):
Who Who Who Am I
I'm an Alpha Delta Pi
Who Who Who Am I
A-D-Pi!

Pi Pi ADPi...

adpi*nurse, can you think of others we used??

Nope- Pi Pi ADPi was our favorite I think.

There were a few song/chants, like the following also:
A with an L with a P -H -A
D with an E with an L -T-A
P with an I, that's Pi, oh my!
Alpha Delta Pi!
Sing it, sing it, sing it, sing it, sing it to the sky.
Shout it, shout it, shout it, shout it, shout it 'til I die.
*Repeats

Or something like that.

PS- I'm adpi*violet now.

Did anyone else sing the various Greek Alphabet songs, with the ADPi chorus? We had one that I could never recreate on this board, but when done right, it was downright sensual and got a LOT of attention! ADPi Conniebama, I'm fairly certain we got it from your chapter!

We also used the following for entering and leaving songs, for the first few rounds (there's more, I just can't think):

Pi, Pi, ADPi (LOTS of other GLOs use this now!)
Alpha, Alpha Delta Pi
Grandma was an ADPi

We did the one adpi*violets mentioned to the Lone Ranger:
With an A, with an A, with an A-L-P
With a P, with a P, with a P-H-A
With an A-L-P and and P-H-A
ALPHA Delta Pi!

Sing it, sing it, sing it, sing it, sing it to the skies!
Shout it, shout it, shout it, shout it, shout it til you die!
And through the years, the best we'll always be! (repeat)
ps - I've definitely heard that with Alpha Sigma Alpha!

For leaving on a more serious note:

Hmm, mmm, I want to linger
White Shining Stars

Yeah, I saw that after I posted

I remember when I went through recruitment, our chapter sang the Greek Alphabet song with the "Go-o-o Greek!" chorus I use it all the time to remember the order of the Greek letters
