Alpha Sigma Kappa- Women in Technical Studies is interested in expansion. However, it is very difficult for numerous reasons. I think the biggest though is who we pool from for membership. Because we are pulling women from technical fields (architecture, engineering, mathematics, and the sciences) we start with a limited pool. Then, at least in my experience, the women in these fields are generally not interested in greek life, or at best only have an indifferent opinion of it. Partly this is because they are motivated in what they want to do, but also b/c they generally aren't the "pretty" girls of the sterotypical image of sororities.
I know there is a larger interest for this group than what I've been able to see at Oklahoma, but we are seriously overshadowed by the large NPC and IFC presence. (e.g. no matter how hard we try, we are still hidden)
