I don't understand people who live in NYC, but I also couldn't stand to live way out in the country either. I'd probably go crazy in the south. I fit in rather well in the Midwest and loved living in St. Louis for school. For me, it was just the right mix.
To you, the southern plantation (so to speak) is right, for me where I am is right, and for those city folk  Chicago, NYC, Atlanta or whatever is right.
That doesn't make one region superior to the other just better for the individual. |
My sister is having her first baby (he was due to make his grand appearance last Wednesday and hasn't bothered to show up yet), and my mother informed her that she plans to live wherever she lives, except for The South. Of course I immediately looked into the job market in The South so I wouldn't have to live near my mother.
However I am the girl who planned a Christmas present gift for the previous boyfriend and the dog to Stuttgart, Arkansas for duck hunting and didn't bat an eye. Sure I'd spend my time lounging in the Peabody and going to the museums but I am not going to complain while in The South. Well except for one particular trip to Florida but that wasn't the fault of the geography or the people.
