Well, I saw the movie today; it was aw'right.

I was lost because he 'returned'. Since I stopped watching the old Superman movies at about 3, I am not sure how/when/why he left. Or is this just a segway without a prerequisite? Still

I talked to my guy friend who also saw the movie and he said it was more like the video game -- fight one person and then move on. I was surprised that he did not spend more time fighting with Lex Luthor to kill him once and for all.

For me, it was awesome because it bought back childhood memories of watching Superman I - IV with my brother. And the special effects and just the ideal of Superman saving the world.

Superman doesn't kill the bad guys. If he hadn't been on an Island of Kryptonite, he might have thrown Lex in jail, but the only law Lex had broken was stealing the meteorites (maybe kidnapping) and he already got off on a technicality.

Batman hasn't killed the bad guys for a while either. They have to get free and cause trouble again.

/Sometimes the bad guys die, but it's usually their own fault.

Don't know if you're disagree-ing or not, but the "henchmen" that died in the Superman movie died because they had to go back and get the cash and things.
The other one was an accident, but he wasn't being particularly nice either. (Not going to spoil it for you)
Comic book heros don't usually KILL the bad guy.

You'll probably enjoy it.

I thought I was sitting through a Spike Lee joint, because it was 2 and a half hours long. For me it was just a'ight too - nothing to write home about, but I did like the special effects.

But I'm hyped because during the previews, they showed a preview for Spiderman 3 due next Summer, and I can't wait!

I saw it yesterday, and I thought the special effects were very good. My mouth was open when he stopped the plane from crashing at the ball park in the first scene....the scene with the bullet and his eye, and the one where Lex stabbedd him with the kryptonite crystal and he fell off the cliff...I like Mccoyred isn't sure where he has been all this time, but I watched most of the documentary on Superman the night before and it stated that they never wanted Superman to kill anyone, and they didn't want him doing to many things that were violent to keep him honest and a hero.

To this day it still amazes me that Clark Kent wearing a pair of glasses and they don't know it's Superman...give me a break, but all in all I thought it was pretty good.
