Thumbs up

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!

I have to call my brother so we can discuss this movie. The opening scenes in terms of cinematography were impressive.

I was wondering if this was going to be another tired remake but I am going to have to check it out since I've heard nothing but good things.

I am going to see the Superman move tomorrow. However, Batman Begins was an EXCELLENT 'remake', the best of ANY Batman movie I have seen.

The only negative thing about the movie to me is the running time......started at 9:20 but did not get out until midnight. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about the movie.

The movie was approx. 2.5 hours long. My daughter, boyfriend and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Interesting fact:
I rented Superman before seeing Superman Returns. The version of Superman on DVD is 154 minutes (this includes a bit of extra footage that wasn't in the original release). When I'm looking at the movie times I see that Superman Returns was also exactly 154 minutes!

I'm a nerd

I liked the movie a lot. It's even better if you watch the first one. It's actually almost a tribute in a way. A lot of the lines are revived, and Lex Luthor is the same character and makes the same references to Prometheus and "LAND" and "what did my dad tell me?"

A great way to bring Superman back I think.

My brothers friend, who is a HUGE comic book fan, didn't like the movie. His chief complaints were...

1) "Lex Luther wouldn't need to marry a rich old lady and steal her money, he's loaded in the first place"

2) "The actor who played Superman wasn't buff enough"

3) "Kate Bosworth was too wimpy/whiney as Lois Lane"

4) "Why did they cast James Marsden who is already known for one comic book franchise in Superman?" (James was Cyclops in X-Men 1-3)

It was actually quite humorous to listen to him complain about the movie. He was so into it. LOL.

My biggest issue is the fact that no one seems to get that Clark and Superman are the same (hello take off the glasses) LOL.

I definately want to see it again. I would like to see it on the IMAX, but only one theater in AZ is playing it (on IMAX) and it is a 3-D version. Otherwise I would like to see it on the Cine Capri (which is this absolutely huge screen).

Well, I saw the movie today; it was aw'right.

I was lost because he 'returned'. Since I stopped watching the old Superman movies at about 3, I am not sure how/when/why he left. Or is this just a segway without a prerequisite? Still

I agree with you about Batman Begins--"It's not who I am that defines me, it's what I do." But for some reason I still like Michael Keaton the best of all the Batmans.

Just came back from seeing Superman Returns. Started out a little slow, but boy did it pick up. He was gone for 5 years to find out more about himself. I think it was a way to segue a new Superman in. And old boy was not bad to look at, in some ways a Christopher Reeves look-alike, especially as Clark Kent. And he sounded like him, too.

Any bets on whether there will be a sequel that involves the addition of a piano-playing super hero? Don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it.

And come on folx, it's not just the glasses, its the hair style, too--Superman has the curl on his forehead. LOL.

ASU, tell your brother that Lex Luther never feels he has enough money or power. LOL

And yes the Spidey trailer looked very intriguing.
