I'm from SHSU. We're trying to get our fraternity up and going. We're called Delta Sigma right now but we're trying to gain enough members in order to receive a chapter from Delta Sigma Phi. There was once a Delta Sigma Phi chapter on the SHSU campus, but vanished in the mid '90s. If you wanna check out some information about us, go here:

And don't worry, that 3.03 GPA is fine. I believe the minimum requirement for ΔΣΦ is a 2.50 GPA. As far as I know about the competitiveness, I personally don't see any huge competition or struggle to win one fraternity over the other. I know one day this past semester my former roommate's fraternity (Kappa Sigma) was knocking on dorms to look. Stuff like that I would believe.
