I have to echo the sentiment that us "young'uns" are saddened by George's passing as well. I grew up loving the Beatle's music, as well as being awed by the impact they had on the world & pop culture. My mom still has all of the albums (and I do mean records), which I've tried to claim numerous times.
I'm in my mid-twenties, and a friend and I were discussing the passing. We were wondering what other musicians would have such an impact when they left us. We had a very difficult time coming up with any that have had such an impact. Perhaps Clapton and Elton John, but definately no one from "this era" of music.
Anyways, it is a loss for everyone.
