My family used to vacation on the Jersey shore. One summer my boyfriend and I drove up there separately to meet them and we got gas and tipped the guy a few bucks. He looked at us like we were insane and didn't thank us, so we just thought he was rude.
I told this story to my friends from Jersey at school and they all thought it was hilarious. Apparently NO ONE tips. So much for trying to be polite!
