This reminds me of something Ginger (Nat'l VP of Expansions, founder of Nu Chapter) told me a few weeks ago at Alpha Delta's induction. Omicron Chapter names their pledge classes after people who've had an influence on their chapter--so for example, they have a Ginger McGarity pledge class, in her honor.
