Then, I think back to Boule in Nashville. Sorors had taken over "The Grand Ole Opry". A lady in one of the restaurants (a sista) told us she HAD to bring her children to work with her to see ANOTHER side of African Americans. She said her kids were only exposed to certain images in our community. She wanted to show them professional, educated, well dressed, well spoken women...not just one or 2, but THOUSANDS!

Can you think of any stories from your experiences at your own Regional, District, Boule, or National Conventions that are worth sharing?
In Nashville I happened to be on the elevator with a man and he asked some of the same questions that the men from Wisconsin asked. He seemed to be very impressed when I told him the Sorority was nearly 100 years old, we were made up of predominantly Black women, etc., etc.

Now why we are an anomaly or enigma STILL, I dunno - but then again, maybe that's not such a bad thing.
