^^^Girl, if you are anywhere near the Loop, gas is already past a dollar.
I work downtown now and will ONLY take the EL---park and ride for me, baby!
Hint--gas is cheapest on Tuesdays and Wednesday mornings because tha's when people least fill up their tanks. At least, according to my mother.
ETA--BTW, I found gas for $2.70 (where I live--North Shore) and was damn near about to cry I was so excited!!!
