Yesterday's show did set up the spin off show
that will tentatively air in the fall.
The guy who played Tia/Tamera's boyfriend used to appear on Girlfriends under another name, different career, etc. but is being used on the spinoff as a boyfriend. Think Martin Kendall from The Cosby Show, appeared 1st or 2nd season as a possible new beau for Sondra but turned up 5 seasons later as Denise's husband.
