I'm not trying to defend them, or say that I buy into their story... But one reason that I can see waiting is so that she isn't pregnant when they get married. She has time to lose the weight and be all skinny and cute for the wedding.
That's just a reason why I could see people (ANY people) waiting until after the baby is born.
