Interesting. I was at a gathering the other night with a lot of my greek friends. I showed some AKAs and a Kappa the stroll. I personally like it due to it being ghetto. Anywho, a GK raised, made GM, AKA was devastated. She said that was very ghetto and borderline Delta. She's used to prissy strolls. Nothing to where you would ever be ghetto and go to the ground. She's never seen a GK woman do that. I haven't either. A Beta Pi, GM, and Iota Phi AKA thought it was cute, but the Beta Pi said ZM could have it. She said she would think BA would do something like that due to Luke being big in Florida. I've seen Beta Pi do something similar to that, yet it was slower. They all agreed that Set It Off is what they are used to. A BZ Kappa said he strolls to Candy. I meant to ask the Delta what they stroll to, but I was to busy asking her about something else that I was wondering about and finally got the answer. I'll ask her next time I see her. I'll also see what the Zeta says concerning the song her chapter strolls to.
ETA: It has been brought to my attention that my post wasn't clear on how I showed my friends the stroll. They viewed via the same link that I viewed. They did not view me imitating the stroll. This message is for anyone that thought of such.

1. This must have been a boring arsed gathering if the entertainment was you showing everybody a link to my sorors strolling.
2. So, what were you taking notes of everyone's reactions and the chapter and organization that they were from?
3. Watch your mouth calling my sorors' stroll ghetto.

This is interesting because down in Florida/SAR Biggie's "One More Chance" is the Unity Stroll...It wasn't mentioned before but the unity stroll is a stroll with simple identifiable stroll movements of one's org because the dance floor/area will be packed because every org will be doing their org's version of the unity stroll at once.
If anyone wants AKA unity stroll breakdown PM me
Songs
Alphas: Mic Checka
AKAs: Set it Off
Kappas: Candy (the instrumental and hip hop mix)
Omegas: Atomic Dog
Deltas: To Be Real
As far as lines go:
1.I've never heard of ship until gc...my LSs are just that line sister
2. Lines are height order so are numbers
3. Someone from yours or another org who has the same number as you is you're Izm if they cross when you do their your Sands
4. The person in front of you is your Front the person behind you is your Back...if a picture is taken of the 3 of you it is a Front/Back picture..(my personal fav)
5. The front of the line is called the Ace, number two is called the Deuce, number ten on the line is called the Dime, the person at the end of the line is called the Tail
As far as distinguishing phrase if I see names with mouse, pearls, pink, or frog and capitalized Ks in them I'll probably think you're my soror ex. line name I know of MouseKteer or names with PearlfeKtion acheived PinKy and the Brain.
On that not I know that Kappas have over time seemed to change a lot of words with Cs at the beginning to Ks I've noticed that sorors (I include myself) have taken not only to capitalizing
AKA in words like AKApella or Miss AmerAKA but simply just a K (though this is done in the middle of words mostly, not in the beginning) ex. MouseKteer...is this old school I don't think it is but has anyone else seen and increase in the use of capitalized Ks or known of the use...I should mention down here we are also called Ks.

1. Yep. It was real boring. We did nothing but watch the stroll all night and make comments on it. We didn't get outta there til 3 in the morning.
2. Of course. I interviewed each individual one by one as they watched, then collectively as a group. I have to make sure my research paper for GC101 is done accordingly.
3. Oh my word. Did I say ghetto? That was the most elegant AKA stroll I have ever seen in my life. It had all the standard moves in it like working your way down to the floor and smacking dat booty. Nothing ghetto about that. I hope it goes national. Maybe Linda will do it at Boule.
Now, on a serious note, I didn't think the post would be considered 'out of order'. To each his own. I've known what chapters my friends pledged years ago. Most greek knowledge I gained in fall 2001. Therefore, you can say I took mental notes. The point of naming chapters was so you'd know what region they were in. Guess I could've just named the region. Would've been quicker. The gathering was great actually. Haven't danced like that since I stayed Alabama. Watch my mouth? I'm grown. Last time I checked, I left my mama in Alabama. The stroll is what it is. The proof is in the pudding.
That will be my universal reply, so that the thread doesn't get out of hand. Don't wanna turn it out and stray away from the topic. I'll take this as a lesson learned and K.I.M. or PM if needed.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRR
On a more SKEERIOUS note, your last posts in this thread have been out of order. My Sorors responded to your posts in such a way for a reason. You say you're a grown woman? Then act like you have some sense when you post on AKA Avenue.
Soror MsFoxyLoxy77, I may just have to send you a PM regarding the Unity Stroll.
Carry on my fellow Greeks!!!

Most things that are boring don't last until 3.

If you need something to research.....

Yes, I find it odd that those on the outside looking in just have to put their two cents in. If one wants to be a member of an organization, it's not a good look if one criticizes aspects of it, no?

Sorors Lets Move on to more interesting issues.
For all of those GREEKS that are on their way to regional conferences take a look at how the same songs gets different variations of strolls.
When Lukes' Scarred came on every soror jumped up to do the strut but there were tons of variations. It all started out the same way but they all had different moves that pertained to whereever that chapter was from.
It was great to see and even better trying to keep up with all the moves . My feet still hurt!

I've notice that we have some school specific variations to our national strholls. But they can be done to a ton of songs. I just do my own variations and trick it out - tail style
