Chico Cancels Softball Season -- Alcohol Poisoning of Recruit

AlphaPhi Bubbles made an good point several months ago (see below) about Greeks feeling they get blamed too often, while other groups get away with problem behavior. In this case, California State - Chico is canceling its softball season because a 17 year old recruit ended up in the hospital for alcohol poisoning after going to a a party given by some of the softball team members. The investigation is continuing, and it sounds like 12 of the 18 team members may be facing disciplinary action of some kind, dependning on the degree of involvement.
I'm sure not happy about the incident, but I'm glad Chico isn't sweeping it under a rug. And it seems to reinforce the point that problems with alcohol aren't limited to Greeks by any means.
