Why did Chi Omega not attend the first Panhellenic meeting held in Chicago in 1902?

a.) Chi Omega did not have enough chapters at that time to be considered.
b.) The letter of invitation was sent to the National President who was ill with typhoid fever & it did not reach the proper authorities until after the date of the meeting.
c.) No one could afford to travel to Chicago.
d.) Chi Omega was present at the first Panhellenic meeting in 1902!

NutBrnHair,

Smiles-we do love Chi Omega history.

The current answer is B.

Here is some more trivia regarding our early pledge pins. There were two early versions of this pin prior to current one. The first version was the "chapter pin" was used as a stickpin. The second pledge pin consisted of a small stickpin in either gold or silver with the letters Chi Omega.

Here's another trivia question:

In what year did Chi Omega recommend a plan of a house chaperon to university administrators that currently had Chi Omega chapters that owned their own houses?

A) 1945
B) 1932
C) 1922
D) 1912

I have no idea, but I'll guess D 1912, because I think our chapter had a house mother from its founding until the chapter closed in 1944 (due to a universal ban on sororities that was lifted in 1979 as a consequence of title IX) and the university bought the houses.

A new question:

Which state currently has the second largest number of Chi Omega chapters (according to the list on our website)?

A: Pennsylvania
B: Ohio
C: North Carolina
D: B & C
E: A & C
F: all three states have the same number of chapters

The correct answer is D. Both states have 11 chapters

You are correct, chitownxo! Yes, President Roosevelt greeted each delegate and told them something about their home state.
