Exactly! What does her being a lesbian have to do with running for Homecoming King? Couldn't she have made a point in running for Homecoming Queen? I don't get it.

You can be stupid and a lesbian also. It's not specific to sexual orientation.

Why wouldnt it be serious? Thats like saying ping pong isnt that serious for people to have it aired on tv... but to those ping pong champions it is.... just because YOU dont find it serious and YOU wouldnt care doesnt mean YOU need to downgrade something someone else might find to be of the UTMOST importance.

Maybe she did it to point how how absolutely gay homecoming is. Homecoming is so freakin' High School. I'm quite glad my alma mater doesn't do that kind of crap.

I go back for Homecoming about every year, but we haven't had Homecoming "Royalty" in years.

It's just a lot of fun to see old friends.

Do you find it to be of the utmost importance?

Hey dude, if you think wussy boys are too skeered to run against a woman, or that homecoming king is really serious business, you have bigger problems than this. I say good for her and the school.

I like the way you said skeered. I have nothing to this thread.

I didnt because i feel i wouldnt have lost to a lesbian or a woman in general. I do however take whatever type of competition i'm in serious. I would have felt the same way i do now about the situation had i been there, all i'm saying is it isnt right for people to downgrade the seriousness of a situation just because they have no interest... if u didnt care that much you shouldnt have posted...

as a straight female, I would have hated to been nominated as Queen, only to know that my "King" is a lesbian. I'm not against Gays and Lesbians, but give me a break. If the lesbian wanted to run, she should have ran for Queen. Wrong plumbing to be a King.

But it seems more like a lack of manners than anything.

She was making a point and
I am sure a lot of people voted for her just for fun.

But its not an important point and it violates a lot of social niceities.
