B. Dr. Zeigler at Georgia State University taught me that "y'all" is dialect. It's one of many words/phrases that is a widely accepted as part of SOUTHERN dialect, which is widely used all over the South. I teach my students that "non-standard English" and dialect are fine and dandy at home and in familiar circumstances, but attempt to keep it out of the classroom and your future workplace(s).

C. Aren't you on a message board? When did discussions on here become FORMAL? I just wanted to point out that you shouldn't poke fun at others when you cannot master the spelling of a word with 4 letters and a punctuation mark.

D. Anything further? Send a PM.

E. I realize y'all is dialect and that it is used in the South. I say it all the time

F. Why do you care about a punctuation mark?.....since it is a message board and all.

G. I don't think I made fun of anyone for spelling...?

H. I never said this message board was formal...I was merely pointing out that y'all is used informally.

I. I'm glad that you teach your students how to speak correct English.

J. No, that is all. I do not need to PM you.
