In fact I think I might give Mr. Pi Phi one of those drug store mini valentine's and some lifesavers. This is my first V-Day with Mr. Pi Phi and I couldn't be any less excited. Now don't get me wrong, I love him with all my heart but I would be perfectly happy with some Chinese takeout and a movie. I don't want him spending oddles of money and trying to make everything perfect.
I was talking to my girlfriend earlier and she was all shocked that I wasn't excited for Valentines Day.
Also, Mr. Pi Phi is sick right now and we have big plans for saturday (we're going to see The Lord of the Rings stage show - it was my christmas present). So I want him to get better for saturday and not worry about tomorrow.
Anyway, enough of my rambling.

OMG Lady Pi Phi,
I just clicked on the 'I hate V-day' thread, and just two years ago you were hanging w/your single friends. Now here it is, only two short years later, and not only are you in a loving relationship, but you're married! Is it just me, or is that exciting.
All: I know that Valentine's Day is a hallmark holiday and everyone says that you should be saying I Love You and treating each other special every day of the year, but let's face it. Sometimes couples get busy and forget to take time out for one another. While I don't endorse buying into the commercial aspect of the day and spending tons of money, it is nice to consciously take a moment to lovingly reconnect w/your sig other. The day should really just be about taking time to appreciate and celebrate the fact that you're in one another's lives. Maybe take a hot bath together. Give each other a massage/facial/pedicure. Make a meal together. Share a glass of wine while listening to some romantic music. Read to one another. Hell play a board game if you'd like. Plus, please please have oodles of sex. All I'm saying is you don't have to do any of the 'traditional', commercial V-day stuff for it to still be an awesome, loving, meaningful V-day.
