I am interested in how a woman who has lost a son and is against the war suddenly becomes an American hater.

The woman is a lost cause, but I thought that the right to disagree with something and speak your mind was one of the principles upon which the United States was founded.

And, as difficult as it is to understand, disliking the President or his administrations policies does not equate to hating the country -- or do you consider anyone who isn't comfortable with the present leadership to be American haters?

That's a sad commentary.

It's not that she's against the war and has lost her son; it is her series of actions over the past year or so. Rudey posted a pretty good rundown of her appearances and the people she's surrounded herself with since she first appeared on the scene.

She is more than entitled to mourn her son and to criticize the war. I can't imagine the pain of losing a loved one so early in his life. However, making herself as public as she has, the public has a right to hold any sort of opinion they'd like about her, good, bad or otherwise. The fact that she lost a son, as horrible as that must be, does not shield her from that.

She can meet and talk to or address pretty much anyone.

It still doesn't mean she hates America.

She's not advocating the violent overthrow of the government, but rather the end to a war in which she doesn't believe.

During my entire time at State, our opinion section has been 100% left-wing radical liberal. I have a friend finally puting in some conservative views, but I bet he gets a lot of shit.

Yes she did attend that meeting/rally/speech/whatever. How have you not heard about this??

She hung out with Saddam Hussein's buddy and supported that statement as well as the statement an awful singer made about how Bush was the world's greatest terrorist.

Seriously I would love to get some sort of understanding on the troops occupying New Orleans and needing to go.



She planned to challenge Feinstein in the races because Feinstein didn't want to immediately pull everyone out of IRaq. This is the Iraq war that we are supposedly fighting because of an Israeli conspiracy. She decided not to run - ie she realizes her loco ways don't entice much of the left even.

That was the info I was looking for, thank you. I remembered you had mentioned it in a thread earlier.

It sure does make her think that she's not a fan of the U.S. I'm not saying she's advocating the violent overthrow, but when you stand next to Hugo Chavez with a smile on your face like that, you don't exactly look like the country's biggest fan.

Again, she has the right to speak her mind and believe whatever she wants; the public then has the right to make judgements on her based on those views.
