When I rushed, we had to wait in our rooms and hope we didn't get "the call". Thing is, everyone on my floor was an upperclassman so we knew the chances of the phone ringing were higher than usual.
The phone rang at the end of the hall. We all screamed and no one wanted to answer it. Finally someone did and our counselor chirped, "You all got bids! Just thought you'd want to know!"
We were torn between joy and killing her because we'd been told that a phone call meant someone wasn't getting a bid.
