I am entirely confused as to why your first thought was to ask the ladies of AKA about this... but OK.
If you're looking for a serious answer, I don't think there's anything wrong with choosing to avoid sexual activity in a new relationship. It will probably save you a lot of trouble and heartbreak if you're casually dating. However, I do not think that your 14 year old cousin will be particularly influenced by your choice. And what are you going to do if you meet a GOOD guy? I think realistically, without a strong moral/religious reason for your abstinence, you'll find it very difficult to avoid sex after several months of a relationship.
