I am so sorry to hear that things did not work out with the sororities this year. I've read through a lot of the previous rush stories and I have to say that you have one of the most positive, insightful personalities I have seen. It was such a treat for me to get to read your story. Please take care, and best of luck to you!

PS: While I was reading your thread, I was thinking that you must do a lot of creative writing -- you were so detailed. If you don't take creative writing, please look into it. You have a real talent.

Best of luck and I hope you do try COB (or CR or SIR or whatever alphabet soup chapters there use) My chapter has gotten some of its best girls that way and I feel that the less stressful and less structured environment lets girls really get to know each other.

There is some news, I heard every sorority made quota and plus. Now I think right now, it's not looking good. However, I did talk to a couple of my friends in sororities about it and they said they have not heard anything about informal recruitment yet but they said they'll tell as soon as they hear something about it. Honestly, I do not want to harp on it with my friends in sororities b/c it will come when it comes, so I guess one of those wait and see things....

I'm afraid that your chances are not good at all. If you don't hear from them in a few weeks, then chances are that you may not get a bid this semester. Think and stay positive and be patient.

If all the sororities are at or above total, you will most likely not have the chance to COB this semester. A chapter at/over quota can not extend any more bids as long as they are at that number. Next semester would be your best bet for COB, some chapters might have openings due to graduating seniors and such.

Slight correction to Jocelyn's post:

A chapter cannot extend bids if they are at or above total - which is the max amount of women a chapter can have set by panhellenic. If they are not at total, but did make quota, they are allowed to bid women until they reach total.

That being said, I am sorry you didn't get placed during recruitment, but stay positive and you'll be fine. Best of luck to you in the rest of the semester!

It's been quite a while since I last posted. This is just a minor update. Since there has been no response about COB, my assumption is that option is now a dead end. It's okay though b/c another opporunity came up where an undisclosed sorority is holding informationals and such. They are not part of Panhellenic or National Pan-hellenic but I'm really interested to learn about them. I'm really interested in this sorority and what it has to offer and maybe there's a chance for me this time around.

The undergraduate chapter has yet to do an informational but when that comes I'll let you know when that happens.

Other than that, life after sorority recruitment has been extremely busy! I tried out for a service org but that didn't work out and that's fine. Campus wide elections are coming up and I'm going for a position so we'll see where that will take me. I know going through recruitment will help me so much during the campaign period - going up to random people so the benefits still ripple through today

Other than life is good and just trying keep up with everything.

I'm keeping this thread alive, never thought that would be the case lol
