				Southern Methodist '06 Recruitment Results

The Jan. 18 '06 Daily Campus has an article on IFC and Panhellenic recruitment results (not detailed with every chapter's results, however):
http://www.smudailycampus.com/vnews/.../43cdcd1f23d55
Concerning the Panhellenic sororities, the story does say that Chi Omega got quota plus four (but doesn't say what quota was or how many Chi O got), and that Kappa Kappa Gamma got 45.

I suppose some GCers will be able to fill everybody in over the next few days.

SC is a private university. It had a freshman class of 2763. Quota at SC in fall of 2006 was 56, according to the campus newspaper. Some houses achieved over quota, the highest being 62.

 So yeah, it is.
 | I can only think of 2 schools - Arkansas and Ole Miss - with quota set that high. Maybe there are others. I would guess that 99.999999999% of campuses have quotas lower than that. SMU's is not small, yours is unusually large. (Don't flatter yourself - I'm talking about quotas here.)

				Quota vs. Total

Perhaps you are confusing 2 terms. Quota refers to the # of pledges a group can take each rush period. Total refers to the entire size of the group. Thus, assuming SMU groups take quota each rush period, their sororities have over 200 members. This makes them one of the schools with the largest memberships in the US. Hardly small!

No, I understand what I am talking about. I'm sorry, our quota was 70 I believe this year but all went over except for one. Which, makes SMU very small. However, comparatively it is big for their school.

 | If you think SMU is small, UNT (my alma mater) had quotas at around 25 (at least when I was there).. membership in the sororities was still about 100 sisters per group. We had a very active greek system.

It really is just all perspective. For me, quota of 50 is HUGE.

 | Yes, 50 is huge in 90+% of the country. Quota at the University of WA is only upper 20's to low 30's.........
