One Christmas a long time ago, I needed something for my mom's stocking, so I put in a bottle of my own perfume...it smelled really nice and thought she'd like it, even if I'd used some. Well, turns out that she knew the brand--I'd borrowed it from her months before, then forgot it'd been hers in the first place! Oh well, I was in junior high, I was entitled to an airhead moment.

I agree with this too. As a teacher, I get lots of things that I have enough of like coffee cups, bath things, and Christmas trinkets. I have a plastic storage box of things that I either have to many of or can't use. In case of an emergency or if I have something that I know the person will like I break open that storage box and go through it. As someone said before it's just like recycling. If I don't use it for awhile I also donate it to charity too!!

Oh, I'm not a big pedicure person. I've already got all those things. It would be wasted on me!

Maybe we should have a big GC regift exchange.

I belong to three organizations which have yearly White Elephant sales - two are rather upscale (re: new Anne Klein jewelry at $1.00!). Anything that's in the regifting closet for close to a year goes to one of the sales!

I'm all for a GC regifting swap!

Mary Kay 4-step facial set w/instructions. It's a nice thought but I need a simple process at night. I'm sure I will find someone that uses Mary Kay.

Believe it or not, the BEST gift that I gave anyone this year was a regift and a truly hideous one at that!

I attended Mr. Silver's work party where we all played white elephant Dirty Santa. Some of the gifts there were obviously NOT white elephant gifts, and the items that I took to exchange were truly nice, but just not our style. Much to my horror, I got a mini "crumb vacuum" shaped like a LAMB...just what I want on my holiday table!
It is really hard to put into words how truly hideous this piece of molded plastic is. Just envision the lamb from "Mary Had a Little Lamb" with a suction mouth. Even now, it gives me the creeps just thinking about it.
As a gag, I gave it to my niece thinking that she could play with it in her doll house. She loved it! Several people in Mr. Silver's family tried it out on the little pieces of thread left over from the nieces' friendship bracelets kits.

Who would have thought?
Silver
