There are 2 or 3 fraternities that RARELY wear any letters of any kind...when they do its always this, "really? i never knew" sort of reaction. The other 4 wear letters like it is their job. The guys are very specific about their letters...as in they only get them in their fraternity colors, never in patterns. The girls are all about the patterns as it identifies a specific line in the sorority. You see letters EVERY SINGLE DAY here...someone is always wearing them. Then again, according to Princeton Review, 28% are in Fraternities, and 28% are in Sororities. Keep in mind that's out of 3500 students.
