If a guy his size told me to freeze, I'd say, "yes sir, how long?"

He was made an honorary deputy in the town next to mine several months ago. He did some training and did all that ceremonial stuff. It gave the sheriff's office a lot of publicity, but when the public saw the price tag, they weren't liking deputy Shaq very much.

Is there a standard squad car that the big man would fit in?

So how much did it cost to make Shaq an honorary deputy? How can the price be so much different than making "Joe blah blah" an honorary deputy?
From what I've read, Officer Shaq does not seek monetary compensation for his services. So if he's not getting paid it should even out.

I can't find the article anywhere, but he demanded to stay at nice hotels and had to have limo service and expensive dinners. He didn't pocket any money, but he demanded a lot of services. Bedford doesn't have a lot of nice places, so they had to drive him to Lynchburg and Roanoke for a lot of what he wanted. I forget the exact figure, but after it was revealed, a lot of people weren't as excited as they were before they knew how much it cost the county.
