Once upon a time, A&F was a really good store. (It's been around a
long time, you know.) It was sort of somewhere between Brooks Bros. and L.L. Bean in the style of clothes carried, and the clothes were good quality. Like Brooks Bros. and L.L. Bean, it was one of the bastions of "prep" clothing.
But somewhere along the line -- 15 years ago or so -- they just started going completely crazy. Even 10 years ago, I could get a good pair of chinos there, or a nice casual shirt. No more.
I miss the old A&F.
