I joined a local sorority, Sigma Iota Phi; we later became a chapter of AEPhi.

The badge was the Greek letters Sigma Iota Phi, in sequence, in plain silver. An amethyst (our jewel) was set in the middle of the phi. I'll post a pic as soon as I scare up my badge (I just moved and everything is everywhere).

We also had pledge rings: amethyst and malachite on a silver ring. Our colors were purple and green, which is why the malachite was chosen in addition to the amethyst.

The mother of one of my sisters (a founder of SigIPhi) designs jewelry for a living. She made our badges and pledge rings. I still have both, and occasionally I wear my ring.
