I just have to add that nobody in my family has ever been Greek on either side as far as we know. I was the first one to even rush and I know Mom and Dad waited eagerly every night for updates, especially my mom and they were both really proud of me after I got two bids.
Afterwards, Mom told me that she was really nervous and really excited for me all throughout rush week.
So I just thought people would like to know that even moms who aren't/weren't Greek themselves have the same emotions and with their sons too.
