it seems like many people have this situation going on...myself included. I have had someone move to where I am living, the primary reason being to be with me. However, he hated the city and had few friends so he was miserable but wanted to try and see if things would get better. Well, they didn't and we ended up breaking up, and he moved back to where he was from.

However, I am currently on the other end of the situation (thinking about moving somewhere else) for a guy. A guy who I have been "talking" to for over a year, but we are not together. He originally lived in NC and now lives in NY, while I have been in IL the whole time. Visits have ensued as well as tons of time on the phone. Every visit has been great and always makes me wonder why don't I just move?

But it isn't a decision to make quickly, you really have to think about what you will be gaining/losing by moving. Just because you want to be with a person does not guarantee happiness. It also shouldn't be an out of a crappy situation you might currently be in. If you do it for the right reasons--ie good job, city you like, maybe some friends you already know, then probably you have more of a chance to be happy and successful than just moving for 1 reason and 1 reason only.

Just my opinion though
