Southern has raised the SAT it requires by a lot (it's now 980) but it'll be awhile before the party crowd goes elsewhere. We sent our oldest there in 2000 and weren't worried about her because she's so levelheaded. Would I send another child there? Not one of our partiers.
I don't think that the "party crowd" will necessarily go elsewhere b/c of the SAT requirement. GSU will just attract smarter partiers. I went to Clemson University before I attended GSU. It seemed to me that there was more partying going on up there than there is here and it certainly takes a heck of a lot more to get into Clemson than it does GSU.

I'm from Statesboro and I will admit there is NOTHING to do in this town but go out. If you want any culture you have to drive to at least Savannah.

I was at the City Council Meeting when they had there open discussion on this issue, and I was the first one to get up and speak. My fear w/ them outlawing drink specials, is that students are going to through more house parties where there will be no security, people will feel more secure to drink more, etc. and there will be more problems than there are now.

I went to the bar in question (Woodin Nikel) twice a wk, every wk this summer. The stories people are telling are much worse than it actually is, esp. where Ladies Night is concerned.

Anyway, I dont' know if anyone else posted this or not, but they did agree to pass the new laws.

No drink specials at all
No one can order more than one drink at a time (so no buying a round for your buddies)

Now one of the club owners is trying to get City council to make buying and possessing a Keg in Statesboro illegal.
