As I read the story, he carried her to his room, laid her on his bed and he took her clothes off. After that, she "noticed" that he had taken off his clothes and was having sex with her. It doesn't say that she resisted in any way, which makes you think of possible drug involvement. Or, it could even have been consensual up to that point. In fact, there is no mention in the article of her putting up any defense until the other seven or so men got involved.
IF the article is anywhere close to accurate, this is a very strange situation that leaves more questions than answers.
One thing is for sure, there's no way a woman (or a man, for that matter) is going to fight off seven football players. That's movie stuff.
The other thing for sure is that a serious crime was committed. I don't think this one could be swept under the carpet by the university or athletic department. Unless there's something really bizarre that we just don't know. I can't even imagine what that might be.
ETA that I got a phone call in the middle of writing this and several posts were made which make this kind of redundant. Sorry.
